Detailed Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 1 – Tarangire National Park Safari
Your safari adventure begins with morning pickup from your hotel in Arusha. After a scenic drive through rural villages and rolling countryside, you will arrive at the entrance of Tarangire National Park.
Tarangire is famous for its remarkable concentration of elephants and its impressive baobab trees that dominate the landscape. During your game drive, you may encounter elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, buffaloes, and predators such as lions and leopards.
The park’s lifeline, the Tarangire River, attracts large numbers of animals, particularly during the dry season when wildlife gathers around the riverbanks.
Enjoy a picnic lunch inside the park while surrounded by nature. In the afternoon, continue exploring the park before departing for your lodge near the Ngorongoro highlands where you will relax and enjoy dinner.
Day 2 – Ngorongoro Crater Safari & Return
After an early breakfast, depart for the rim of the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater.
Descend approximately 600 meters to the crater floor for a thrilling game drive across one of Africa’s most extraordinary wildlife habitats. The crater supports an incredible diversity of animals including lions, elephants, buffaloes, zebras, hyenas, hippos, and the endangered black rhinoceros.
The lush grasslands, freshwater lakes, and acacia forests create an ideal environment for wildlife, making the crater one of the best safari destinations in Tanzania.
Enjoy a scenic picnic lunch near a hippo pool before continuing your afternoon wildlife viewing. Later in the day, ascend the crater walls and begin the drive back to Arusha where your safari concludes.
