Day 1 – Arrival in Arusha

Your safari begins upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, where you will be welcomed by your guide and transferred to your lodge in the nearby safari town of Arusha.

Located at the base of Mount Meru, Arusha is the starting point for most northern Tanzania safaris and serves as a gateway to the region’s famous national parks. After checking into your lodge, you can relax and recover from your journey while enjoying views of the surrounding gardens or distant mountains.

In the evening, your guide will provide a briefing about the safari ahead, explaining the parks you will visit and the wildlife you may encounter.

Day 2 – Arusha to Tarangire National Park

After breakfast, the safari begins with a drive south toward Tarangire National Park, one of Tanzania’s most underrated wildlife destinations.

Tarangire is famous for its enormous elephant population and its striking landscape dotted with ancient baobab trees. During the dry season, animals gather along the Tarangire River, creating excellent opportunities for wildlife viewing.

Your first game drive introduces you to the rhythms of the African bush. You may encounter large herds of elephants, graceful giraffes browsing in acacia trees, and zebras grazing across the open plains. Predators such as lions and leopards also inhabit the park, though they can be more elusive.

After a full afternoon of wildlife viewing, you will continue to your safari lodge located near the park.

Day 3 – Journey to the Serengeti

Today’s journey takes you deeper into Tanzania’s safari circuit as you travel toward the world-famous Serengeti National Park.

The drive passes through the scenic highlands of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, offering sweeping views across volcanic landscapes and Maasai pastoral lands. As you descend onto the Serengeti plains, the scenery opens dramatically into one of Africa’s most iconic ecosystems.

The name “Serengeti” comes from a Maasai word meaning “endless plains,” a fitting description for the vast grasslands stretching toward the horizon.

An afternoon game drive introduces you to the Serengeti’s remarkable wildlife diversity. Lions resting beneath acacia trees, cheetahs scanning the plains, and large herds of wildebeest and zebras are common sights.

Day 4 – Full Day Safari in Serengeti National Park

Today is dedicated entirely to exploring the Serengeti.

Morning and afternoon game drives allow you to experience different wildlife behaviors throughout the day. Early mornings are particularly rewarding, as predators are often active during the cooler hours.

Depending on the season, you may witness parts of the famous wildebeest migration, when over a million animals move across the ecosystem in search of fresh grazing. Even outside migration season, the Serengeti hosts an incredible abundance of wildlife.

Your guide will track animal movements, search for predators, and explain the fascinating ecological relationships that sustain life on the plains.

Day 5 – Serengeti to Ngorongoro Highlands

After a final morning game drive in the Serengeti, the safari continues toward the Ngorongoro highlands.

The route climbs gradually into cooler, greener landscapes characterized by volcanic hills and forested slopes. This region forms part of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its geological and cultural significance.

You will spend the night at a lodge perched along the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater, offering spectacular views across the enormous volcanic caldera below.

Day 6 – Ngorongoro Crater Safari

Today you descend into the remarkable Ngorongoro Crater for one of the most unique wildlife experiences in Africa.

Formed by a collapsed volcano millions of years ago, the crater floor is home to an astonishing concentration of animals within a relatively small area. Grasslands, forests, and soda lakes support species including lions, elephants, buffalo, zebras, hyenas, and flamingos.

Ngorongoro is also one of the best places in Tanzania to see the endangered black rhinoceros.

After a full day exploring the crater, you will ascend back to the rim and begin the journey toward Arusha.

Day 7 – Return to Arusha

After breakfast, you will return to Arusha for your onward journey or departure flight.
